KARUN HOME & SCHOOL, SOUTHERN INDIA
The final total raised from the Christmas Fayre for the Karun Home and School in Southern India was £1,313. Many thanks to everyone who made this event so successful, particularly Sonia Boyles.
The traditional method of taking the offertory collection at all services has now been discontinued.
Particularly with our welcome to visitors in mind, the PCC no longer believe it is appropriate to ‘take the plate around’ during worship. A bowl will be left out at the crossing of the aisles in the centre of the church during services for any who wish to still give in that way, and this will still be brought to the altar at the offertory.
Major services such as at Remembrance and Christmas will revert to the traditional method of collecting.
All regular members of the Church of England are encouraged to give via standing order. Please contact the Church Treasurer, Richard Moore at
firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to give in this way.
LENT FELLOWSHIP EVENINGS
Please join us from 20th February and then each Tuesday in Lent at the Ark for dinner, fellowship and a return to the basics of our faith. These are informal gatherings where we shall spend time exploring some of the core teachings of Christ in the ‘Beatitudes’ (Matthew 5, 1-10). We will be following the course written by the Bishop of Oxford which encourages us to be a more “contemplative, compassionate and courageous church”. It would be good, for these first Lent evenings in the Ark, to welcome many new people who don’t normally come to these events. Go on, take the plunge and tell Hilary in the office that you would like to come. Jamie
