Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem when he was greeted joyfully by crowds shouting ‘Hosanna’ and waving palm leaves. This year our main service on Palm Sunday will be a special Family Communion when the children remain in church throughout the service. It will begin outside the church unless it’s raining. Everyone is given a palm cross to keep as a reminder throughout the coming year of what Jesus did for us. Outside there are prayers and Bible readings and then, as we hold the crosses high, they are blessed. We then walk through the churchyard into church. As we arrive a hymn is sung. If you are unable to walk you are invited to sit in church and wait for the arrival of the procession.
